Never flush non-biodegradable items like wipes, diapers, sanitary products, or condoms, even those labeled “flushable.” Paper towels, coffee grounds, cigarette butts, and cooking oils also cause serious clogs and system damage.
Limit harsh chemicals, bleach, and antibacterial soaps that kill beneficial bacteria essential for waste breakdown. Excessive use of these products disrupts the natural treatment process and requires more frequent pumping.
Avoid garbage disposal overuse, especially for grease, fats, and large food particles. These materials don’t break down properly in cesspools and contribute to blockages that cause expensive backups.
